With hundreds of thousands of Americans, Canadians, and Europeans owning Homes and Condos in Mexico, international insurance provider http://www.mexpro.com reminds these property owners that having earthquake coverage is extremely important in Mexico. There are several areas in Mexico that are prone to earthquake activity. The Pacific, Cocos, North America, and Caribbean tectonic plates all converge in or near Mexico which result in a number of earthquakes along the West Coast, the Caribbean coast, and in the interior of Mexico.
MexPro.com provides a Mexico Home and Condo insurance policy for property owners in Mexico that includes not only standard Homeowners coverage, but also includes coverage for the seismic movement of land, including tremors, earthquakes and volcanic activity.
In addition to the earthquake coverage, the MexPro policy also includes coverage for weather related events.
Weather related coverages include four major sections:
Hurricane/windstorm, Hailstorm, Flood, Tidal Waves.
1. “Hurricane”, “Cyclone” or “Windstorm”, means things like wind related events, such as low pressure systems, disturbances, depressions and tropical or extra tropical storms; tornadoes or whirlwinds.
2. “Hailstorm” means exactly that, (i.e. the violent precipitation of hail), but it must be in sufficient magnitude to be identified in the warnings or alerts of the Mexican National Meteorological Service.
3. “Flood” means the accidental and temporary covering of soil by water or mud, due to rain or the overflow or breakage of retainers for rivers, water channels, lakes, reservoirs, water tanks and natural or artificial deposits of water; excluding waters from the ocean.
4. “Tidal Waves” means the accidental and temporary covering of soil by ocean waves due to hurricanes or similar wind phenomena, earthquakes or tsunamis; when identified as such by the Mexican National Meteorological Service.
According to Derek Kartchner, Director of Revenue for MexPro's parent company, International Insurance Group, Inc., "We suggest that owners of property in Mexico take a look at the current coverage they have in Mexico to ensure that Earthquake and Weather Related coverage is provided. While most Americans, Canadians, and Europeans do not purchase these coverages in their home country, they should take a look at purchasing these coverages on property they own in Mexico. Our MexPro policy is specifically designed to cover US and Canadian property owners in Mexico, and is available to consumers, agents and brokers on both a retail and wholesale basis."
