Panel OKs buying package for grants management at total of more than $33,000.

Town Council unanimously approved the purchase of eCIVIS grants management software on Monday night.

The purchase is for a three-year contract, and will cost $11,025 per year, bringing the three-year total to $33,075.

Town staff had previously recommended the panel approve the purchase of the software, which helps locate grants based on financial need areas.

The company offers a grant management system and support to local jurisdictions, nonprofit organizations and health care companies.

The software would allow five users to access information that would assist in grant research, writing and tracking. Citizens and other organizations would also have access to the software.

In other matters, Town Council also approved:

  • A proclamation designation the week of April 22 through the 28 as "Administrative Professionals Week 2012," and April 25 as "Administrative Professionals Day."

The theme for the week is "Admins, the pulse of the office."

  • A proclamation making April 29 "Paint the Town Purple Day," in conjunction with the town and county's Relay for Life events.
  • An amendment of a special use permit for AVG Holdings, LLC property at 602 ad 604 Radham Street, which will allow barber and beauty salons, banks, branch banks, financial institutions, professional offices and retail and personal services to use the buildings.
