It’s important for a theatre marketing company like FootLights to support all styles of theatre in their effort to directly impact the greater community.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 29, 2012
Footlights Publishing Inc., publisher of full service cross-marketed theatre programs in California, launched its 2012 philanthropy program by joining actor/comedian Stephen Kramer Glickman and The Comedy Store to support the Los Angeles Leukemia Lymphoma Society’s Man and Woman of the Year fundraising campaign on March 18.
The Let’s Lick Leukemia All-Star Comedy Fundraiser was held at The Comedy Store in Hollywood and featured seven comedians including Glickman, Jeff Garlin, Dom Irrera, Bryan Callen, Chris D’Elia, Kira Soltanovich and Allan Harvey. The fundraiser was part of Glickman’s Man of the Year campaign on behalf of the Los Angeles Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
FootLights publisher, Peter Finalyson, says supporting causes like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society is an important part of FootLights’ focus on theatre and community.
“Theatre is about community and opportunity – what happens, who’s affected and the endless questions and answers about the human condition. It’s important for a theatre marketing company like FootLights to support all styles of theatre in their effort to directly impact the greater community," said Finlayson.
FootLights sponsors several theatre and non-theatre causes each year through services ranging from promotional support like e-blasts, online marketing and public relations to no-cost or low cost program printing and free advertising inside the FootLights playbill, website and social network.
In addition to supporting organizations like the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, FootLights supports and sponsors theatre organizations that are dedicated to promoting theatre in Los Angeles. This year, FootLights was a sponsor for the Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle (LADCC Awards. In recent history, it has also supported LA Stage Alliance’s Ovation Awards and The LA Weekly Awards with free or low cost programs and promotional activities.
“Every year FootLights donates thousands of dollars in direct and indirect support to philanthropic organizations dedicated to assisting individuals and raising awareness about various issues and to the theatre community in its effort to raise awareness about Los Angeles theatre. It is our goal to continue a consistent philanthropy program that gives back to the theatre community as well as the community at-large,” says Finlayson.
Last year, FootLights donated roughly $50,000 in direct and indirect contributions to nonprofit organizations throughout Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area.
