2012 is the perfect time for everyone to focus on British products - including English Wine - and show the visiting world just how good our food and drink really is.

As part of its BST campaign, Bibendum has listed nine new English wines from five producers.

Wines from a’Beckett's (Wiltshire), Furleigh Estate (Dorset) and Nyetimber (West Sussex) join long standing Bibendum producers Chapel Down (Kent) and Hush Heath Estate (Kent) in the company’s expanded English wine portfolio.

The aim of the BST campaign is to promote English wines to consumers in hotel, bar and restaurants throughout the summer and showcase exciting, boutique producers.

Bibendum is supporting the wines with POS material including BST branded deckchairs, online content and neck tags, and is planning consumer visits to producers in conjunction with its on trade partners.

BST will also include English spirits and beers in the form of Portobello Road Gin, the Somerset Brandy Company and Curious Brew beers. Bibendum will be promoting cocktails made with classic British ingredients and English wines, including a Rhubarb Royale and Elderflower Kir.

Marketing Director, Fiona Cochran, said: “2012 is the perfect time for everyone to focus on British products and show the visiting world just how good our food and drink really is. Demand for high quality, local products has been rising for several years and we expect the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and London Olympics to increase this even further. BST is the ideal way for our on trade customers to make the most of this fantastic opportunity.”

Trading Director, Richard Cochrane, added: “The response from our trade customers has been fantastic. There is a growing demand for quality English wines in the on trade and we are delighted to be working with a range of brilliant producers to raise the profile of the category in bars, hotels and restaurants around the country.”

Bibendum’s BST campaign will then run right through the summer until the clocks go back in October.
