Big4.com, is the premier social networking forum for professionals and alumni of Accenture, Andersen, BearingPoint, Capgemini, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers, PwC and they have reviewed the results of a PwC survey where 1300 CEOs in 60 countries were asked about their priorities and what they were doing in preparation for the future. The difficulties in finding the right talent was one of their biggest concerns.
Big4.com reported on the fact that 78% of CEOS understood the need to change their strategies for getting this talent. There were other issues brought to light including the gap emerging to replace the baby boomer generation over the next decade . Only 30% of CEOs felt they would have access to the talent they needed over the next three years.
“To face up to this crisis CEOs are turning outside their sector for talent and they’re also going deeper into their own organisations to pinpoint their future leaders and invest in their development now,” said Neil Roden, human resources consulting partner, PwC.“This early investment can pay off in future loyalty among these future leaders, and the obvious benefits of recruiting internally and ‘growing their own’ rather than struggling to replace from outside.”
CEOs across all industries are finding it harder to find the right talent according to the PwC survey and the Big4.com report on it. Almost half or 43% of those polled say it is now more difficult to hire workers in their industry.
