Kanetix releases the raw statistics behind an in-depth study of distracted driving habits in Canada. The findings detail the levels of distracted driving, as well as the conscious bad driving habits of motorists on Canadian roadways.
The study, conducted by Leger Marketing, breaks down bad driving habits and distracted driving by age, sex and region, including texting and talking on cell phones while driving, road rage, and speeding, among other factors. Notably, eight in every ten Canadians admit to having at least one bad driving habit which amounts to approximately 18,750,000 motorists; this includes habits such as: speeding, texting while driving, following too closely, eating, failing to signal, applying makeup, and more.
To coincide with the distracted driving data, Kanetix has launched an investigatory editorial series looking at the study's findings: Confessions of a Canadian driver - In depth. Findings from the study show that among Canadian motorists consuming food and/or beverages while operating a vehicle is the most popular bad driving habit, and that the income bracket most likely to admit to these bad habits are those earning 100K + annually.
