QWIQQ, the leader in social commerce, releases free iPhone app that empowers local merchants to share, in real-time, what they want to sell across multiple social platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, SMS and Email.

“We paid special attention to the needs of local merchants when it comes to social media,” said Jack Wrigley, co-founder of Qwiqq

Qwiqq, the leader in social commerce, today announced the release of Qwiqq 2.0 available for free in the Apple iTunes App Store. Specifically designed based on version 1.0 user feedback, Qwiqq 2.0 delivers robust features empowering local merchants and consumers.

“We paid special attention to the needs of local merchants when it comes to social media,” said Jack Wrigley, co-founder of Qwiqq. Based on their feedback, Qwiqq provides an easy, real-time way to capture what local merchants want to sell and then share it out of network to Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, SMS and Email. “We call that a commerce post,” said Wrigley. In addition, Qwiqq provides consumers a way to share what they love to buy regardless of price, product or service. “Real-time, frictionless sharing is key. The result is a commerce platform designed to sell local products and services wrapped in a fun, engaging, social container,” Wrigley added.

Qwiqq’s innovative approach to building a social platform designed to sell products is at the core of the company. “We turned the old approach of building a social platform on its head. Why not build a platform that sells first and is social second? So we did,” said John Phan, co-founder of Qwiqq.

Along with robust sharing out of network, Qwiqq delivers powerful features including Social Buzz with each post. “Users can quickly see not only how many times their post has been shared but on which networks. This is handy and fun for a local merchant. He can post a special one day and another the next and see which networks shared each promotion the most. Its pretty cool feedback not requiring a degree to understand,” Wrigley added.

What does the future hold? “Lots,” said Phan. “Since Qwiqq is about selling products and services we can naturally monetize in many ways that are beneficial to local merchants and users. We have an opportunity to be a starting point from which much social commerce originates. Knowing that, we built the platform to support numerous services.”

“We are excited. But most of all we are excited for local merchants. They have heavily influenced Qwiqq 2.0. We are thrilled to deliver it and believe both local merchants and consumers will love it,” added Wrigley.
