The United Nations Foundation's Girl Up campaign took part last night in the launch of the Ivanka Trump Collection at the Lord & Taylor flagship store on Fifth Avenue in New York. As the line celebrated the launch of its spring 2012 ready-to-wear fashion, shoes, handbags, and outerwear, 10 percent of sales during the evening went to Girl Up to develop American girls into global leaders and support United Nations programs that help adolescent girls in developing countries.
Since the launch of the campaign in the fall of 2010, Ivanka Trump has helped Girl Up develop into a nationwide movement of adolescent girl ‘philanthro-teens’ who are uniting to support girls around the world. As a Girl Up Champion, Ivanka has raised awareness of the importance of encouraging girls to be global leaders. Her company, Ivanka Trump Fine Jewelry, has raised money with its signature Girl Up bracelet and is a Founding Partner of the campaign.
