A central London preparatory school has recently appointed a new website design agency from the price comparison website Marketing Quotes to help re-design their website to be more informative to parents. The move was to try and cut pupil truancy figures and provide more information to parents about attendance, sickness levels and performance levels of individuals.

Websites for schools do need to be more interactive and informative about student numbers, sickness levels, attendance levels and individual pupil performance. This was the brief from one central London preparatory school that has appointed a new website designer to re-design their website to be more informative to parents, providing more information about attendance and sickness levels. The school approached Marketing Quotes in March 2012 to help get ideas and quotes from website designers that have experience in the education industry. They selected a local web designer after having met with a few based on their experience in providing information and real time statistics on other clients websites.

A governor at the school commented 'we have been under pressure about the poor attendance of pupils and whilst almost half of the cases are due to illness, parents have been asking for us to provide more information. We have selected a designer to come up with a new website that will provide more statistics about attendance, sickness levels etc. This is also going to involve a login area so that parents can see reports from teachers about how their children are performing in classes, attendance, bullying, social involvements with other children etc. The goal is to provide more information to parents (the information is secure of course, stored under login and password) about how their children are getting on. We feel in a technological age it should be simple to run and could well become standard for schools right across the country; in a sense we are guinea pigs for this new system, so are excited.
