2012 Vandover Industry Survey Reveals Key Success Factors for Relocation

2012 Vandover Industry Survey

Better preparation for relocation helps everyone: employers get the best candidate with more efficiency and better ROI, and the employee gets support that helps them make the right choices, both before and after accepting an offer.

We are proud to announce that the Vandover 2012 Mobility Survey: Key Success Factors report has been published in the Knowledge Center of the new website at Vandover.com. The survey targeted mobility professionals in a range of industry roles, including individual organizations, mobility service providers, and relocation-related Realtor positions. The individual organization respondents represented companies with approximately 19,000 transfers per year, and the industries included were: Aeronautics, Space, & Electronics; Automotive; Chemicals; Conglomerate; Food and Beverage Production; Government and Military Services; Healthcare; Insurance; Manufacturing Consumer Products; Media and Publishing; Pharmaceuticals; and Utilities.

The survey’s purpose is to better understand the tracking and assessment methods that are currently used in making mobility decisions, how different organizations define mobility success, and whether companies are providing the mobility services that industry professionals think are most important.

The findings revealed that there needs to be more tracking and assessment of employees who have been relocated. When asked which support services they would like to be able to offer more frequently, 47% of mobility professionals chose Pre-decision support, with split-family assistance the next most popular choice at 22%.

“Better preparation for relocation helps everyone: employers get the best candidate with more efficiency and better ROI, and the employee gets support that helps them make the right choices, both before and after accepting an offer,” said Margery Marshall, President of Vandover. “Vandover is focusing on how we can help fill this need and will be continuing to roll out solutions.”
