Local owners of Chino Hills fit body boot camp, Cara and John Eckerman, earn the Fit Body Boot Camp Achievement of Excellence Award for 2012.

This annual award is given to a small percentage of Fit Body Boot Camp owners who accomplished growth in their business, including client results, quality service and community involvement.

Cara and John Eckerman, owners of Chino Hills Fit Body Boot Camp, http://chinohillsfitbody.com, recently moved to Chino Hills from Houston, Texas in January of 2011 and in a less than a year’s time have become a huge part of the Chino Hills community. Cara and John own a boot camp in Houston (still do) and wanted to offer their same quality of service here in Chino Hills. Their goal was to change as many lives as possible through their quality boot camp program and good old southern hospitality. What happened over the course of their first year as Chino Hills residents surpassed their own expectations.

“This award is a result of our strong belief of putting others first. John and I have a strong work ethic and we bring a family feel to our boot camp where clients receive the necessary support to attain proven results. Our purpose in life is to change lives through fitness and help people improve the quality of life they live,” says Cara.

John says, “This award isn’t just about us. It’s about our clients; our boot camp family.”

A loyal boot camp client told Cara and John:
“Before I started Chino Hills Fit Body Boot Camp I weighed 300 pounds, had high blood pressure, very high cholesterol and triglycerides, a bad lower back and foot pain from carrying all that extra weight. Even tying my shoes was a struggle. The doctor said I would get type II diabetes and I would be lucky if I saw the age of 60 (I’m 50 years old). Since joining Chino Hills Fit Body Boot Camp, 8 months ago, I have lost 70 pounds and have so much muscle strength. I am now a workout warrior. On weekends I run 3-5 miles with my friends that I have met at John and Cara’s boot camp. I am doing my first 5K this month and I feel awesome and full of energy!”

John and Cara have brought excitement and life to the community of Chino Hills. They not only change the lives of their clients, but are very generous in giving back to the community as well. They recently held a kids fitness boot camp with the local Chick-fil–A restaurant. “We want to introduce health and fitness to our youth. With the rise in childhood obesity and diabetes it’s important to establish health and fitness at a young age. You are never too young or old for a healthy lifestyle,” says Cara.

John and Cara have also held food drives for Caring for the Hills, which is a Chino Hills charity for families in need and they are sponsors of the Let it be Foundation 5K.

“When we moved to Chino Hills we didn’t know anyone and now we have this huge family all around us. It’s a great feeling,” states John and Cara. Chino Hills Fit Body Boot Camp has well over 100 clients and continues to grow. John and Cara will be opening more locations in surrounding cities so they can broaden their reach of people and the lives they change.
