It is gratifying that Behlman can help a client keep their systems operational when original power supplies had frequent failures.
Hauppauge, NY (PRWEB) April 02, 2012
Behlman Electronics, Inc., known for its leadership in providing power products for industrial, commercial and military, applications, has received an order for additional Behlman 94028-3 COTS VME power supplies with special features that have helped ensure long-lasting uninterrupted performance of its client’s UHF SATCOM terminals.
In 2004, after experiencing frequent returns from the field caused by another manufacturer’s power supplies, a major SATCOM terminal manufacturer asked Behlman to provide more reliable, redundant power supplies in the same size package as the original power supply. Behlman not only met the challenge, it increased reliability to such an extent that no Behlman power supplies have failed in the field for electrical problems. Based on this indisputable testimony to the rugged, reliable performance provided by Behlman, this client has recently placed additional orders for the Behlman 94028-3 power supply.
“It is gratifying that Behlman can help a client keep their systems operational when original power supplies had frequent failures.” said Ron Storm, Behlman Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It is even more gratifying when those replacement power supplies prove to be so superior that we win orders for Behlman power supplies to support new SATCOM terminals being manufactured by this client.”
Three power supply designs for use with SATCOM terminals.
Behlman has designed and manufactured three different power supplies for this client: the 94028-3 VME COTS power supply for shore-based UHF SATCOM terminals, the 94044 VME COTS power supply for Shipboard UHF SATCOM terminals, and a compact 94075 VME COTS power supply for use in smaller racks.
Behlman’s 94028-3 and 94044 are redundant VME units designed to provide power to rack equipment. Each has two independent sets of eight DC outputs with battery backup on critical voltages. These supplies have universal single-phase AC inputs and can supply loads up to 500 watts. The smaller Behlman 94075 power supply is similar, but provides lower power without redundancy.
