Coastal Healthcare Consulting (Coastal), a provider of information technology consulting services for hospitals, today announced the signing of a two and a half year contract with Iowa Health System (IHS), the fifth largest nondenominational health system in the nation.
While IHS implements a new electronic health record, Coastal, along with partner Hayes Management Consulting (Hayes), will support IHS’ legacy healthcare information system, GE Centricity Enterprise.

Coastal and Hayes teamed up to provide the specific project management and consulting services required to meet Iowa Health System’s unique legacy system support needs. As one of the nation’s most integrated health systems, IHS provides care throughout Iowa and Illinois through relationships with 26 hospitals in metropolitan and rural communities and more than 200 physician clinics. Coastal and Hayes will work very closely with the IHS information technology team to ensure an effective support model is in place to service their end-user community.

“We are very pleased to be awarded this contract to provide the complete legacy support of Iowa Health System’s GE Centricity Enterprise applications,” said Amy Noel, President of Coastal Healthcare Consulting. “We have an exceptional team in place on this project, and I am confident that we will consistently meet or exceed the service level agreement targets.”

“The relationship with Hayes and Coastal provided an immediate benefit to our organization,” said Deb Muro, Executive Director of Clinical and Financial Applications for IHS. “They brought in an experienced team capable of managing the day-to-day operations and support of the legacy system, allowing our staff to focus upon the critical work of implementing our electronic health record.
