"I felt compelled to share that wisdom in my book, Wise Words & Witty Expressions. Now through Wise Irish Women, I can give my readers a closer look into how these words saw my grandmother, mother, and me through life’s most challenging moments.”

Woodbridge, NJ (PRWEB) April 03, 2012

Renee’ Gatz, author of Wise Words & Witty Expressions, has been featured in the recently released book, Wise Irish Women: A Journey of Love, Loyalty, and Friendship to Inspire the Irish Spirit, authored by Patricia Connorton Kagerer, and her cousin Laura Prendergast Gordon.

Gatz been featured along with 35 other women of Irish descent who have shared their personal stories covering everything from Irish charm, Irish luck, and Irish love of family, to Irish gumption.

The book was inspired by Tricia and Laura’s desire to share the strength and character of the very special Irish women in their lives along with words of wisdom from other women with deep ties to Ireland. Whether it’s a story by acclaimed author Mary Higgins Clark, playwright Marianne McDonald, QVC Host Jane Treacy, or Tricia and Laura themselves, each story is designed to inspire women to make a difference in their own corner of the world.

Gatz said, “Wise Irish Women provided an opportunity to share the strength, courage, and character of the very special Irish women in my life. My grandmother, Bridget Ena Madden McCaffrey came to the United States from County Mayo Ireland in 1907 and through her example passed on a legacy of optimism, a good sense of humor, and wise expressions for navigating life’s ups and downs. For example, she would say “when you feel like you are at the end of your rope, tie a knot and hold on.” My mother, Patricia Eileen McCaffrey Gatz, continued the tradition by always being a positive role model to me and by arming me with the same wise words she learned from my grandmother, including “you can do anything you put your mind to.” I felt compelled to share that wisdom in my book, Wise Words & Witty Expressions. Now through Wise Irish Women, I can give my readers a closer look into how these words saw my grandmother, mother, and me through life’s most challenging moments.”

Gatz is currently working on a children’s version of Wise Words & Witty Expressions.

About Author, Renee Gatz:

Renee Gatz is the author of Wise Words & Witty Expressions, a collection of all the expressions her Irish American mother said to her growing to help her navigate life’s ups and downs. The expressions—funny, sarcastic, and profound—have always come back to Gatz at just the right moments in her life to help her laugh, understand, and even survive. Based on the positive response and requests to capture these expressions in a book, she felt compelled to share the wisdom of her Irish grandmother and mother with others.

Gatz has been a guest speaker at many venues including Barnes & Noble in Menlo Park Mall, NJ, The Barron Arts Center in Woodbridge, NJ, Rutgers-Newark Women’s Entrepreneur’s Network Breakfast Series, where she was named one of the 2010/2011 honorees, Princeton Public Library, American Irish Association in Woodbridge, NJ, and the Women of Irish Heritage Jersey Shore organization.

Gatz garnered a review in Irish America magazine where they stated, "With sections devoted to motherhood, love, life’s challenges, and sarcasm, readers will carry wisdom and wit through all of life’s situations."

Many media outlets have featured Wise Words & Witty Expressions, including the Sunday Star Ledger, The Home News Tribune, and Irish Echo newspaper. Gatz has been a guest on multiple internet radio programs and writes a monthly article titled The Power of Irish Wisdom for the Irish American Cultural Institute’s member newsletter.

Gatz has been told by many readers that they keep her book on their coffee tables and on their office desks when they need a laugh or a little inspiration.

Gatz is currently working on a children’s version of Wise Words & Witty Expressions.
