Phillip Securities, Singapore’s most established securities firm, is launching two new World Indices CFD – the FBM KLCI MYR10 CFD and the FTSE China A50 Index USD1 CFD, which correspond to the FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI Index and the FTSE China A50 Index respectively.

The FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI is Malaysia’s headline index which represents the top 30 Malaysian companies by market capitalization. The FTSE China A50 Index comprises the largest 50 A Share companies listed on the Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Exchanges by full market capitalization. Both indices adopt FTSE’s award winning methodology which includes free float adjustment and liquidity screens, and are managed in accordance with a clear and transparent set of index rules.

“Having these additional indices allows our clients to trade the Malaysian and "A" share markets, both of which are very niche and difficult for retail investors to enter till now,” said Mr Lee Chang-Wen, Manager of Phillip CFD’s Market Makers, Phillip Securities.

Ms. Jessie Pak, Director, Asia of FTSE Group, said, “FTSE is well recognized for our partnerships with leading exchanges to provide flagship market benchmarks. Our China indices are broadly used by global investors to gain access to this fast growing emerging market. We are delighted to cooperate with Phillip Securities to expand the range of investment opportunities based on FTSE indices.”

Being a leader in financial products, Phillip Securities’ “firsts” include trading of CFDs or Contracts for Difference in 2004 and the launch of Treasury Bills Platform and OTC Trading Platform in 2006. In 1996, Phillip Securities was the first stockbroker in Singapore to introduce online stock trading called POEMS.
