The contest enables students to demonstrate their creativity and characterize the positive impact recycling has on our environment, while helping build awareness of the importance of eco-friendly living.
Erie, Pa. (PRWEB) April 02, 2012
In honor of Earth Day, recognized annually on April 22, students nationwide are participating in an art contest hosted by FundingFactory ®, the nation’s largest fundraising-by-recycling program for schools and nonprofits. Today through April 20, students and other artists ages 13 and up are encouraged to submit eco-friendly artwork that showcases one of three green themes, and incorporates the new FundingFactory logo.
To enter the contest, students and artists may create original digital artwork illustrating the theme of Earth Day, E-cycling or Up-cycling and upload it to the FundingFactory website. The artwork will be evaluated on artistic merit, creativity, and theme demonstration by a panel of FundingFactory employees. Scott Kennedy, the senior graphic artist at FundingFactory, will spearhead the committee of judges.
The top four designs will be selected from each theme category, with the 12 winners to be featured in the 2012-2013 FundingFactory calendar, “It’s Easy Being Green.” The first-place winner overall will receive a $100 Amazon gift card.
“The art contest encourages students to explore the environmental issues impacting our Earth,” said Sean Michaels, co-president of FundingFactory. “The contest enables students to demonstrate their creativity and characterize the positive impact recycling has on our environment, while helping build awareness of the importance of eco-friendly living.”
