In 2012, numerous people are looking at the Mayan calendar and contemplating the possible end of days. But author Jeanne Roberts believes people should turn instead to the Scriptures for their answers. This is a topic she covers in depth in her new book “What Do the Scriptures Say About the Last Days?” (published by iUniverse).
Roberts suggest that many Christians have grown apathetic about the last days and the second coming of Jesus which are prophesied in the Bible, and that numerous other Christians believe Christ’s return is in the very distant future. This concerns Roberts who says, “Huge numbers of people are unaware of the times in which we live. They do not realize that many of the signs preceding Christ’s return are already taking place. They are also unprepared for the period of turmoil and warfare called the Tribulation which precedes Christ’ reappearance”.
According to Roberts “What Do the Scriptures Say About the Last Days?” identifies Christ's warning signs and the signs already fulfilled. As she explains, the book answers questions concerning future fulfillment of remaining signs and discusses the tribulation and that which is known about Christ’s return. She says her book is written to help anyone who is not yet prepared for His arrival.
Roberts makes a concerted effort to avoid interjecting her own commentary into the book and focuses instead on allowing quoted Scripture to speak for itself. “Other books often provide an author’s interpretation of the Last Days and these books may disagree with one another. The Scriptures are the best source of correct information,” she explains.
