CRADA Will Develop Innovative Technology in Secure Mobility, Deep Content Inspection, and Multi-Level Systems

Tresys Technology, a provider of technology and services for customers with high security requirements, today announced the company has entered into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Air Force Research Laboratory—Information Directorate (AFRL/RI) to devote research and development efforts to three broad areas: Secure Mobility, Deep Content Inspection, and the Next-Generation Multi-Level Environment. As part of the agreement, Tresys will also provide consulting around Security Enhanced Linux (SELinux) best practices to AFRL/RI analysts, engineers and developers.

The CRADA, designed to foster the sharing of knowledge between government and industry researchers, will further understanding for both parties of cross domain deep content inspection, multi-level environments, and secure mobile phones and tablets. The agreement will allow Tresys and AFRL/RI to engage in innovative R&D together and to more rapidly deliver the resulting technology to warfighters at a substantial cost savings to the Federal Government. Key to delivering innovative new capabilities under this agreement is the unique insight into current and future customer requirements that AFRL/RI provides. Combining this insight with the technical depth and visionary design approach from both organizations will allow rapid generation, evaluation, and development of new concepts, prototypes and solutions.

“AFRL is one of the premier research institutions in government,” said Tresys CEO Gary Latham. “This agreement formalizes and expands on our current collaboration and, allows Tresys to bring our existing technology, along with in-progress concepts and prototypes to the challenges identified by AFRL. We look forward to working together to solve some of the most challenging security problems faced by warfighters, broader government, and the critical infrastructure sector.”
