Harrington Group, Inc. Principal & Fire Protection Engineer Appointed Alternate Member on Two New NFPA Committees

Dale Hansen, Principal of Harrington Group, Inc. and Senior Fire Protection Engineer, has been appointed as an Alternate Member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Correlating Committee on Combustible Dusts and the Technical Committee on Fundamentals of Combustible Dusts.

Dale Hansen, Principal of Harrington Group, Inc. and Senior Fire Protection Engineer, has been appointed as an Alternate Member of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Correlating Committee on Combustible Dusts and the Technical Committee on Fundamentals of Combustible Dusts. NFPA has multiple combustible dust standards that contain different—and sometimes conflicting—requirements. The Technical Committee on Fundamentals of Combustible Dusts is responsible for developing a new standard that consolidates the basic requirements among the existing combustible dust standards so that the standards are more consistent and easier to use. The Technical Correlating Committee on Combustible Dusts is responsible to ensure the requirements across all of the combustible dust standards remain consistent.

Mr. Hansen is a registered fire protection engineer with more than 16 years of diversified engineering, consulting, and project management experience and has been a key member of Harrington Group’s team since joining the firm in 2001. Harrington Group’s long-standing commitment to excellence in the field of fire protection engineering is further enhanced by his affiliation with these NFPA committees, which will be instrumental in providing direction and guidance to the fire protection engineering profession. In addition to NFPA, Mr. Hansen is also an active member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), both locally and nationally, and formerly served as President of the Greater Atlanta Chapter.
