There was a huge amount of interest during the recent presentation of data, of a ground breaking research project carried out in the Airmid Healthgroup climate controlled test chambers, by Dr Angela Southey one of the lead researchers on the project.

The findings related to indoor air quality and carpets and utilized airmid’ s uniquely integrated facility which combines molecular biology and state-of-the-art air sampling in a highly developed AC-1 chamber, where they follow nominated viruses, bacteria, molds and other ultra-fine particles as they become air-borne and are distributed throughout the chamber.
The data was presented during the American Academy of Asthma Allergy and Immunology (AAAAI) Annual Meeting 2012, March 2-6, in Orlando Florida. The AAAAI is a world premiere medical meeting to expand knowledge and skills in allergy, immunology and other issues that relate to indoor air quality.

As a world leader in bio-medical research Airmid help clients across a number of sectors such as air conditioners and floor coverings, improve, add value and differentiate their customer offerings through a focus on data, health impact claims and air quality.

'We were delighted with the interest from health care professionals in the study during the prestigious event and there has already been a lot of media pick-up of the key messages" said Dr Angela Southey

The message picked up by the media was ‘Carpets may not be the culprit’ which is a break through as it is a break with the current thinking in some sectors of health care professionals.
Reference to the study has already been made on PediatricSuperSite.com. A site that strives to be the global, definitive information source for pediatric professionals by delivering timely, accurate, authoritative and balanced reports on clinical issues, socioeconomic topics and industry developments.

We are very pleased this has been picked up by the media’ said Dr Bruce Mitchell, Airmid CEO, ‘our mission is to assist our clients’ research capabilities, generate high class data and most importantly convert it into value. This whole study and the issue of biological and non-biological ultrafine particles is a great example of this’.
