Author and speaker Patrick Schwerdtfeger announced today that he will sponsor the Small Business Marketing Blog Outreach Blogging Contest #SMBContest coordinated by Gail Gardner of GrowMap (@GrowMap on Twitter) sponsored by Gushcloud and Universal Business Listing (UBL). The contest will officially launch on April 15 and will close on April 31 with winners being announced on May 15. Major bloggers and social media influencers will be promoting the contest to encourage the blogging community to share its best small business advice online.

This contest is an improved version of a previous CommentLuv FamousBloggers contest that offered $3550 in cash prizes and attracted top bloggers who published 39 entries. Since that time, the number of bloggers has greatly increased as has their skill level and influence. This year’s contest anticipates a minimum of 100 entries and possibly many more. Each entry contributes additional incoming links and exposure for the contest’s sponsors.

The vast majority of bloggers make little or no money from their efforts. In this contest, cash prizes reward bloggers who provide value for their readers. “It’s a true win-win”, explains Schwerdtfeger. “These bloggers provide an enormous amount of value and deserve far more than the cash prizes available in this contest, but at least it’s one small way we can say ‘thank you’ for their contributions.”
