New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation message will travel to New York to partner with the Broadway production of "A Streetcar Named Desire" in a mega-sweepstakes bringing three trips to one lucky winner.

Mardi Gras visits The Great White Way through July 22nd and to celebrate the groundbreaking interracial Broadway production of A Streetcar Named Desire, the New Orleans Tourism Marketing Corporation will offer the “I Desire The Ultimate Getaway Sweepstakes.”

One lucky winner will win three trips. All include air transportation and hotel. The first is a travel package to New York City to see A Streetcar Named Desire. The second is a trip to the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans, which includes three nights at the newly renovated Hyatt Regency New Orleans, and the third will take the same winner on a seven-night western Caribbean cruise on Royal Caribbean International’s Voyager of the Seas. On opening night, April 22nd celebrated chef Michael Gulotta of John Besh’s Restaurant August will travel to New York to create an authentic New Orleans style opening night celebration featuring classic New Orleans dishes like okra gumbo, hot muffalettas, crabmeat po-boys and bread pudding. Visitor Guides, and beads will be distributed that evening as well as on some other nights.

We are pleased to partner with Front Row Productions’ on A Streetcar Named Desire to help bring this historic play back to Broadway.”

The Broadway production stars Blair Underwood as Stanley, Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche, Daphne Rubin-Vega as Stella, and Wood Harris as Mitch. A Streetcar Named Desire, written by Tennessee Williams, is directed by Emily Mann with original music by Terence Blanchard. Tickets are priced from $49.50 - $199.
