March Madness Shoots Neal Communities to Big Sales Month

Neal scored big in March, topping February's sales and soaring strongly into April.

On the heels of February’s record 54 home sales, Neal Communities continues its hot 2012 pace, topping that figure with another 64 sales in March. The Lakewood-Ranch-based builder/developer also set a closings record for a single month. Neal’s March 2012 sales were the highest number for one month since 1980.

The Lakewood Ranch community of Central Park led the way with 25 home purchases—doubling last month’s figure for the popular neighborhood—and bringing total sales there to over 270 in just 20 months. Also in Lakewood Ranch, four homebuyers made purchases at Belleisle at Country Club East.

“With inventories of homes for sale down and mortgage rates leveling off, more and more prospective homebuyers are getting off the fence,” says an upbeat Pat Neal, president of Neal Communities. “We’re seeing excellent traffic across the price spectrum of our neighborhoods,” Neal adds.

The latest month’s activity brings Neal’s total for the first quarter to 150 homes sold, putting Neal on pace for another landmark year. BUILDER Magazine named Neal Communities its 2012 America’s Best Builder in its category (100 to 500 closings). The publication featured the company in its recent March issue.

Neal’s team also added eight homes sales in Woodbrook, Forest Creek logged seven sales, and River Sound—which is nearly sold out—registered four sales. Sawgrass, The Harborage, and Arlington Cove recorded three sales each and Wisteria Park in northwest Bradenton had two.

Greystone and John Neal Homes at Country Club East at Lakewood Ranch, with two sales each, rounded out another memorable month for Neal.
