Our goal is to offer customers the performance and interfaces they need to speed production without compromising quality or risking waste.

MTS Systems Corp., Sensors Division, illustrates how several of the company’s recent innovations can benefit plastics manufacturers looking for higher levels of performance. Whether looking for faster measurement speed, higher accuracy, or advanced controller interfaces, these improvements enable plastics machinery to operate at higher performance levels.

“What we’ve learned by working with injection and blow molding machine manufacturers is that, in large-scale operations, even small improvements in certain features can significantly impact profitability and production,” Matt Hankinson, technical marketing manager with MTS Sensors, explained. “Recent additions to our line of R-Series Temposonics® sensors enable operators to improve line speeds and reduce waste through more accurate, reliable position feedback along multiple axes.”

The advanced controller interfaces include:

  •     R-Series with Ethernet/IP output which offers high performance while reducing cabling and overall system cost.
  •     R-Series with EtherCAT output which offers the fastest Industrial Ethernet interface with 100 microsecond measurement cycles
  •     R-Series with Synchronous Serial Interface (SSI) which offers high speed measurement cycles as well as advanced real-time synchronization.

All MTS Sensor models feature Temposonics technology for robust, absolute linear position feedback.

“Our goal is to offer customers the performance and interfaces they need to speed production without compromising quality or risking waste,” Hankinson said. “The R-Series sensors we are featuring at NPE 2012 will help equipment manufacturers build the machines their customers need.”

Visitors are invited to visit MTS Sensors at booth number 4775 any day of the event to learn more.
