Hyena Cart's new Pinterest Page

Hyena Cart is excited to join the Pinterest party, and we look forward to growing our page and exploring the different opportunities that exist in this new space.

The popular online store Hyena Cart has created a profile on the social photo-sharing website Pinterest. Launched in 2010 and dubbed by the Wall Street Journal as "the hottest start up,” Pinterest has more than 10 million members who create and manage digital collages by “pinning” theme-based images to “boards.”

Hyena Cart opened its Pinterest page with a “Products I Love” board – a collection of favorite items from several of the site’s individually owned online stores. Many of those stores are run by hobbyists and “mompreneurs” who created products that they couldn’t find elsewhere.

“Pinterest is a perfect place for Hyena Cart,” said founder Karen Lee. “The site is all about sharing interesting products, and that’s what HC offers on a daily basis – unique, beautiful products for people who are passionate about the environment, high quality and supporting small businesses. We are excited to join the Pinterest party, and look forward to growing our page and exploring the different opportunities that exist in this new space.”

In addition to “pinning” products, recipes, clothes, and more to their boards, members can also "re-pin'' items from other people's boards, resulting is a digital work-of-mouth platform. That platform has led to a significant source of referral traffic to Hyena Cart and is now one the site's top 10 sources of referral traffic.

Last month, Hyena Cart added Pinterest icons to every HC listing page, making it easy for customers to pin their favorite products. Hyena Cart plans to continue building interest and awareness in its product offerings by highlighting listings on its Pinterest board.

About Hyena Cart

Hyena Cart started as a shopping cart for Karen Lee’s Kool Sheep Soakers. From there, it has grown to incorporate more than 1,000 active sellers offering a variety of natural products. Most of the sellers are moms, known as “mompreneurs,” who operate their own online businesses using the Hyena Cart platform to facilitate online shopping. The most popular seller categories include cloth diapers, clothing, hand-knit items, hand-dyed yarn and toys.
