Bluegreen Vacations, a leading provider of Colorful Places to Play, is excited to participate in National Walking Day on Wednesday, April 4, 2012. Bluegreen plans to encourage associates to get up and move as part of the American Heart Association campaign.
On Wednesday, April 4, Bluegreen associates will be encouraged to wear sneakers to work and spend at least 30 minutes of their work day walking. Bluegreen is joining the American Heart Association program in efforts to raise awareness of the importance of physical activity and give associates a friendly push toward a healthy life.
Stephen Wilke, Director, HRD and Corporate Communications for Bluegreen explains that he recently saw an article in Perspective Magazine that said the wellness trend is here to stay and that our customers were looking for healthier lifestyles and vacation experiences that support their wellness choices.
“Associates living healthier lives will naturally help us support the wellness intentions of our customers,” Wilke said.
Bluegreen Corporation began the campaign by asking associates to Save the Date and plan to participate in National Walking Day. Bluegreen looks forward to spreading the message of heart health, and resultant better life quality, on April 4, 2012.
According to the American Heart Association, statistics show that one in two men and one and three women are at risk for heart disease. Research also reports that poor lifestyle choices are a major contributor. Incorporating healthy habits into work routines is an easy way to increase health and quality of life.
