Scality Names Philippe Nicolas Director of Product Strategy

Technology veteran and recognized expert joins Scality, bringing valuable insights to Product Development and Market Adoption

Scality, a storage innovator and the developer of RING, today announced that Philippe Nicolas has joined the company as Director of Product Strategy. During his 20 years of experience, Nicolas occupied multiple technology marketing and technical positions, most recently with Brocade (2 years), and previously with Symantec and Veritas Software (almost 10 years), SGI (4 years) and Compaq. He is also the founder and co-organizer of the popular "IT Press Tour".

In parallel, Nicolas started the SNIA France committee in 2001 and served as Chairman for almost 10 years. He also served two, two year terms as director to the board of SNIA Europe. He was responsible for the creation of 4 SNIA Tutorials around Data Sharing, File Storage, Massive Scalability and Cloud Storage since 2002. He received in 2005 the "Outstanding Service Award", from SNIA Europe, for his industry and association contributions and he is a founding member of SNIA Cloud Storage Initiative.

2011 was a ground breaking year for Scality, with 120% growth, a range of new partnerships and impressive deployments. Scality has already proven itself to be a very active player in the storage market, and 2012 will certainly confirm that trend. To sustain and cultivate the market demand, Nicolas will drive product direction and lead the product management effort. Nicolas reports directly to the Scality CTO, Giorgio Regni.
