McMillan donates to Top 3 Association in support of memorial at Offutt Air Force Base.

McMillan Study Guides Inc., the premier publisher of self-study materials for US Air Force members, today donated $500 to the Offutt Top 3 Association’s new memorial for fallen service members. Set to debut on Memorial Day, 2012, the Fallen Memorial recognizes more than 60 military personnel who gave their lives in service to our nation.

The Offutt Top 3 Association is a non-profit organization comprised of both active duty and retired senior enlisted personnel from all branches of the military. Their organizational goals include mentoring junior enlisted personnel and fostering esprit de corps, recognition, professional development and enlisted heritage.

Offutt Top 3 committee member, MSgt Dave Vasser, explained the motivation behind the Fallen Memorial. “As of today, we have processed over 60 service members through Offutt AFB to their home towns in Nebraska and Western Iowa. We would like to build a memorial to show the families that we are here for them and remember their sacrifice.”

The bronze memorial, cast in the shape of a soldier's cross, will sit atop a concrete surround on the parade field at Offutt AFB. Service plaques for each of the five military branches and an inscription plate will appear on the base of the memorial.

“We recognize the tremendous sacrifices of our nation’s military families and we honor them as we do our fallen soldiers,” said Susan McMillan Emry, vice president of McMillan Study Guides. “We commend the Offutt Top 3 Association for their service and are grateful they thought to involve us in this enduring tribute to the families.”
