Professional pet sitters honored for their work promoting quality pet care.

Pet Sitters International (PSI), the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters, has awarded its 2011 Platinum PAW Awards, sponsored by Comfort Zone® products.

The Platinum PAW Award was created in 2009 to recognize PSI members and networks for outstanding work associated with promoting the importance of quality pet care and professionalism in the pet-sitting industry.

Darlene Ehlers, owner of Pampered Pet Home Care in Cleves, Ohio, has been selected as the 2011 Individual Platinum PAW Award winner for her work in organizing the 2011 Puppy Up! Walk, an event held to help increase awareness of 2 Million Dogs.

The Central Ohio Professional Pet Sitters (COPPS) Network has been selected as the 2011 Network Platinum PAW Award winner. The COPPS Network was chosen for its participation at multiple events last year, including Pup-a-palooza, Fido Fest, Cat Caper and PSI’s Hungry Bowl™ Pet Food Drive.

“The community involvement and philanthropic efforts displayed by the 2011 Platinum PAW Award recipients make them shining examples of professionalism in the in-home pet-care industry,” PSI President Patti Moran said.

In addition to the award, the winners will receive one free registration to PSI’s 2012 Quest for Excellence Convention in Austin, Texas, $500.00 in cash and a gift basket courtesy of Comfort Zone® products, sponsor of the 2011 Platinum PAW Award.

About Comfort Zone
Developed and recommended by veterinarians, Comfort Zone® products are clinically proven* to help control destructive behavior related to stress in cats and dogs.

Dogs and cats react differently to being away from their owner, but both may feel a certain amount of stress or fear when left alone. Pet behavior problems, such as urine marking in cats and excessive barking or chewing in dogs, are frequently caused by fear or stress.

Like all animals, cats and dogs secrete pheromones. Research has shown that certain pheromones can help an animal cope with these fears or stress-related issues. Comfort Zone® products have been proven to help control stress-related behavior problems naturally by mimicking the pheromones that make him feel more secure in his environment. Comfort Zone® products are available in a diffuser for continuous control in the home or a spray for travel and spot application.
