Corra Group Measures Economic Recovery By Increased Employment Screening

Corra Group has seen more background checks ordered from around the country as a sign of sustainable economic recovery. There are specific increases in particular sections of the country as well as with particular industrial sectors.

“Because we offer employment screening, we get a remarkable overview of specific industries as well as business in general," said Gordon Basichis. "Corra Group is in the trenches, and as such we get to see the signs of economic recovery."

Corra Group has determined there is at least a modest economic recovery based on a significant spike in orders for employment screening packages. The background checking service has seen more business from around the country and with specific increases in particular sections of the country as well as with particular industrial sectors.

“Employers are beginning to hire again,” said Gordon Basichis, Co-Founder of the Corra Group. “We are seeing increased orders as well as inquiries from new or prospective clients who tell us they are up and running and wishing to streamline their employment screening process. Needless to say, after a recession and a tough couple of years, employers are looking for a deal. We are only too happy to give them one.”

Basichis noted that employers are hiring with greater caution then they had before. Prior to the recession, many companies ordered the series of background checks that were not as comprehensive as what they are requesting at this time. “We are being asked to conduct education verifications, both domestic and international, as employers rightly believe certain job applicants will fabricate graduation in order to gain an advantage in what remains a highly competitive job market.

“We are seeing more requests for drug tests,” said Basichis. “Even with companies where drug tests are not required for industry standards or compliance purposes,” employers are making sure their job candidates are clean and sober. “In healthcare, the defense industry, or in trucking and transportation, you could expect that drug tests would be added to the screening package. But now even retailers and manufacturers are requesting drug tests for their employment candidates. Social Media monitoring is also in increased demand.”

Basichis noted there are parts of the country that are seeing the economic recovery faster than others. “Manufacturing and exporting are enjoying notable increases,” he said. “The geographic sectors that are favorable to manufacturers are experiencing job growth. And when one industry starts to do well, those industries that support it, suppliers, truckers, packaging outfits, also start to recover.

“Because we offer employment screening background checks both nationally and internationally, we get a remarkable overview of specific industries as well as business in general. Corra Group is in the trenches, and as such we get to see the day-to-day progress toward a sustainable economic recovery. We lived through the economic downturn and now we can witness the inevitable recovery. Business takes a hit, companies go under, and industries are suddenly obsolete. But then business reconfigures and works itself out on what it has to do to meet the sudden demands of the modern era. It’s a privilege to help them meet those demands.”
