IIUG, the International Informix Users Group, has been running its own conference for 4 years thanks to IBM Champion and Informix advocate Cindy Lichtenauer: “We are breaking record after record on this new edition that will be held in San Diego, CA, from April 22nd to April 25th: more tracks, more speakers, more user speakers, more attendees, more sponsors”.
The attendees will also attend David Barnes’ keynote, IBM’s program director for emerging Internet technologies. Barnes will speak about BigData, one of the Internet’s hottest subjects. This keynote will be one the highlights of the conference.
The main goal of attending the IIUG conference is to grow technical and business skills around Informix and many other IBM products.
Of course, there are many other great reasons for Informix users and professionals to come. IIUG is also expecting many IT managers, business executives who run Informix as a database of choice as a key element in their IT infrastructure.
Attendees will have a unique opportunity to interact directly with IBM executives, Informix developers, and users at the largest gathering of Informix professionals in the world; learn more about Informix products and future product enhancements
IT technicians and engineers will also be able to become IBM Informix Certified by taking the IBM Informix Professional Certification exams or almost any other IBM Information Management exam for free.
Stuart Litel, president of IIUG, concludes “I expect this conference to be the best one we’ve ever done, we have worked very hard to make it a success and I’d like to take the opportunity to thank our team of volunteers who, once more, did an awesome job”.
The conference will be held in the San Diego Marriott Mission Valley, starting with tutorials on Sunday, April 21st, followed by 3 full days of conference, dispatched on 7 tracks covering Informix tuning, installation, optimization, 4GL, Genero, OAT (OpenAdmin Tool), IWA (Informix Warehouse Accelerator) and more.
