A new interactive, online community offers support and empathy for parents and children experiencing the impact associated with a divorce. With input from various industry experts along with interaction, encouragement, insight and guidance from people sharing experiences in its online forums and Facebook, LifeThruDivorce will be a dynamic, trusted partner for anyone touched by divorce (http://www.LifeThruDivorce.com).
LifeThruDivorce is the brain child of a group of friends who have each been touched by divorce and who found there is no single reliable, full-service resource to get advice, support and empowerment from professionals and peers.
“The website is designed to provide the knowledge, expertise and empathy to empower families to accept, recover and heal as they move forward in their individual lives,” said Perri Teitelbaum, one of the LifeThruDivorce partners. “Our desire was to create a ‘community’ and a ‘movement’ where everyone can share feelings, stories, and positive influences; and find dedicated professionals to shed light on and guide families through all stages of the journey through divorce.”
Experts providing content to LifeThruDivorce include attorneys, financial planners, family therapists, mediators, realtors, travel agents and much more. Website visitors will be able to search for professionals who can meet their needs through LifeThruDivorce’s online directory of regional and national experts.
Jeff Landers, CDFA, CRPC, is President and Founder of Bedrock Divorce Advisors and a contributor to LifeThruDivorce.
“Our firm assists women and their divorce attorneys with determining the most advantageous way to divide marital assets. We enable them to negotiate more favorable settlements, especially when there are complicated financial and tax issues,” said Landers. “Being part of the LifeThruDivorce platform will enable us to reach more women who could use our help with the financial aspects of their divorce. We can also educate website visitors about our nonprofit, Bedrock Divorce Fund For Abused Women, Inc., as well as other nonprofits that help abused women and their children.”
Wall Street firm Morgan Stanley Smith Barney® will provide important financial, investment and wealth management content to the LifeThruDivorce website.
LifeThruDivorce will have relevance beyond divorcing couples.
“We will pay special attention to the impact divorce has on children,” said Teitelbaum. “The website has resources for parents to help identify and address their child’s emotions, stress and acceptance. In addition, LifeThruDivorce will have content geared for the children to get the answers, peer support and the comfort they need to better handle the transitions that occur during and after divorce.”
LifeThruDivorce has already developed a following and demand for its concept with growing interest on Facebook. Since launching the Facebook page in November 2011, it has reached up to 724,000 visitors each week. Followers from many states and Canada have read, “liked” and commented on the content which has included references to relevant articles, professional blogs and even experience sharing.
LifeThruDivorce offers value-added marketing opportunities for professionals who can offer their services to the website visitors. Ads can be targeted nationally or regionally and advertisers can also provide content which demonstrates expertise. LifeThruDivorce’s media kit can be accessed here.
