This comes in recognition of our efforts for continuous improvement and growth at LSBM, which we hope will continue unabated in the future.
London, England (PRWEB UK) 5 April 2012
LSBM received Highly Trusted Sponsor status from the UK Border Agency (UKBA) in March 2012. The college was previously listed as an A–Rated institution. LSBM is currently providing both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Business, IT and Tourism Management.
The UK Government has imposed constraints on the visa system for new international students which resulted in nearly 500 private educational institutions losing their right to sponsor new International students since 2011 (UKBA Website, Nov 2011).
After implementing the new visa system all private colleges must unconditionally have HTS status to recruit international students who want to study abroad in the UK.
LSBM Managing Director, Mr. Riaan Jonck said, “We are delighted that LSBM have achieved HTS status. It is an important achievement for LSBM to enhance focus on top quality service and a positive future.”
Dr. Rosemary Skordoulis, the principal of LSBM, said, “This comes in recognition of our efforts for continuous improvement and growth at LSBM, which we hope will continue unabated in the future. LSBM would like to express our sincere thanks to all our students, staff, partners and stakeholders for their valuable contribution”.
The changes in the new international student visa system make it much more difficult for many private colleges and higher educational institutions to recruit international students.
Academic Programmes Manager, Mr. Michael O’Leary commented, “We are thrilled that the UKBA has awarded us Highly Trusted Status (HTS). This decision goes a long way towards recognising that our institution is a quality assured and UKBA compliant college, which is focused purely on improving the opportunities of a global student body, regardless of their background or nationality. It is important to show that there are genuine private colleges in the UK who make a big contribution to the economy and will assist towards the development of a skilled labour force in uncertain economic times.’’
