“Syttende Mai marks Norway’s declaration of independence and celebrates the signing of Norway’s constition.” said Paul Folz, President of The Spring Grove Syttende Mai Committee. “I believe The Spring Grove Syttende Mai National Lutefisk Eating Championship provides a wonderful way for everyone at this year’s celebration to get a taste of our history and heritage.”

Todd “The Hungry Genius” Greenwald, Chairman of All Pro Eating, commented, “Norwegians take the history of their food very seriously and we are honored to be involved with The Spring Grove Syttende Mai National Lutefisk Eating Championship! This event truly celebrates the Norwegian nourishments that we Americans can be thankful for - although some may want to cheer this unique Eating Championship from an upwind location. At the end of the day, when a new National Lutefisk Eating Champion is crowned and the new All Pro Eating National Lutefisk Eating Record is announced, I would be surprised if the crowd doesn’t proclaim in unison ‘Alt For Norge’.”

All Pro Eating will be featuring Professional Competitive Eater, Eric “Silo” Dahl who is a Minnesota native. Along with being from The North Star State, Dahl is currently ranked by All Pro Eating as the #1 Ranked Professional Competitive Eater and the #1 Ranked Collegiate Competitive Eater.
