Hermosa Beach, CA (PRWEB) April 04, 2012
Hot’s Kitchen in Hermosa Beach is partnering with C.H.E.F.S, the Coalition for Humane and Ethical Farming Standards, to increase awareness and support for the production of humanely farmed Foie Gras. Hot’s Kitchen feels it to be their responsibility to their customers to solely use animal products that come from humane, ethical and sustainable farm practices.
Later this year, a ban will take effect on the sale and production of foie gras. C.H.E.F.S and Hot’s Kitchen believe in the right to choose; therefore, along with many other culinary professionals throughout the state, Hot’s Kitchen is taking up this cause. Chef Sean Cheney says “We believe in the rights of animals and the humane production of foie gras. At Hot’s Kitchen we hope to raise awareness for this cause and against the unethical treatment of ducks and geese by supporting C.H.E.F.S. through the sale of our foie gras burger.”
For every Foie Gras Burger sold at Hot’s Kitchen, $1 will be donated to the Coalition for Humane and Ethical Farming Standards – $693 was raised and donated by Hot’s Kitchen over the month of March. The ban has the potential of creating a foie gras black market leading to even more cruelty of ducks and geese. You can show your support by contacting your legislature, signing a petition or by simply coming down to Hot’s Kitchen to enjoy a foie gras burger!
Hot’s Kitchen is open everyday from 11am to 11pm at 844 Hermosa Avenue in Hermosa Beach.
