IMM's Original Design Captures Second Place in ADCD Paper Fashion Show

The über-creative design team at Boulder’s InterMundo Media (IMM) is thrilled to announce its second-place finish at the eighth annual Art Director’s Club of Denver (ADCD) Paper Fashion Show.

Held on March 15, 2012 at the Seawell Grand Ballroom in the Denver Center Performing Arts Complex, the sold-out ADCD Paper Fashion Show treated hundreds of guests to 53 original designs made almost entirely out of paper donated by xpedx.

“IMM is a data-driven agency known for delivering results, but not all we do is strictly science,” said Wayne Chavez, President and Co-founder of IMM. “Winning second place is a testament to how creative the whole IMM team is. The design crew really represented a cross-section of the entire company, with members from creative, engineering, client services, and solutions.”

Each year at the ADCD Paper Fashion Show, a panel of judges votes on local designers’ fashions that are showcased down the grand runway. All proceeds from the event benefit Downtown Aurora Visual Arts (DAVA), a local community organization that provides after-school arts programs for at-risk youth. Since the Paper Fashion Show’s inception in 2004, ADCD has donated more than $22,000 to DAVA.

The entire IMM design team—Kat Adams, Dwayne De Freitas, Kate Ellis-Hill, Alison Fink, Gina Lee, Jennifer Lysaught, and Daniel Paul—invested its blood (lots of paper cuts), sweat, and tears over three months and hundreds of hours to create an entry inspired by the idea of futurism born of rich beginnings. Wrapped up in the innovation of digital advertising, the team collaborated to take analog and make it digital, with a dash of funky romanticism a la steampunk.

“A lot of what we create within our agency involves intangibles because we play in the digital space,” explained Jennifer Lysaught, Sr. Director of Client Services at IMM.

“For the show, we wanted to get out of our comfort zone by taking an intangible idea and bringing it to life.”
