Rentapen has decided to sell their big laser machine and focus completely on their service of providing cost reductions in weld fixtures for manufacturers.

We design any kind of positioning fixture (jig) but we are best at reducing costs in medium sized precision weld fixtures that need to produce products within tolerance.

Rentapen Inc. located in Waukesha, WI no longer provides Just-In-Time Laser Cutting Services with the Mitsubishi laser. Rentapen will still have laser cutting services but, with its smaller laser, a 150 watt Kern Laser that cuts up to 0.078 inch steel and can run at night without an operator present. The smaller laser is what is used to cut Rentapen’s RAPid Shims™. Their shims are used weld fixtures and as die sharpening shims, custom cut metal shims, and NAAMS shims.

Rentapen is now dedicated to reducing costs in weld fixtures for manufacturers. Rentapen’s team does this in three ways.

First, is Excellence in 3D Weld Fixture Design & Build. Rentapen can design a manual or robotic weld fixtures based on the manufacturers’ needs. Rentapen can serve any industry from automotive, agricultural, or any industry requiring weld jigs.

“We design any kind of positioning fixture (jig) but we are best at reducing costs in medium sized precision weld fixtures that need to produce products within tolerance,” said Susan Straley, Queen of Lean Machine Design and President at Rentapen Inc.

Second, is Rentapen’s RAPid Tooling Components™. These standardized yet versatile components reduce the design and build costs of the fixture by eliminating the need to design, detail and check similar parts over and over again. Three dimensional computer models are provided by Rentapen that customers can use to incorporate into their designs.

Rentapen recently released a free web service. Design Engineers can now order 3D CAD Models of the line of weld tooling components from Rentapen’s website. Rentapen’s 3D CAD Models are the perfect solution for any fixture designer that wants to become more efficient and create better fixtures.

Third, as mentioned before are Rentapen’s RAPid Shims™. Metal shims are used to finely adjust the location of how the fixture holds the product so that it is welded together within the dimensions set for the product to work well. Rentapen offers steel shims, stainless steel shims, metal shims, NAAMS shim shapes, Bridge shims, Adjustment shims, custom sizes and shapes of shims, Reid Tool Supply shim shapes, and Douglas shims.
