Social Hill teamed up with Habitat for Humanity this March to help raise awareness about poverty housing and homelessness. Through Social Hill’s celebrity lounge, celebrities were able to come to the show room to learn more about Habitat for Humanity, thereby spreading understanding of the cause.
According to Habitat for Humanity, about 1.6 billion people live in substandard housing and 100 million are homeless. Through volunteer labor and donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and rehabilitates simple, decent houses alongside their homeowner partner families. Celebrities donated their time to this charity by coming in to Social Hill and signing the Habitat for Humanity banner, which the company will use to raise money and awareness. Celebrities were encouraged to write one word on the banner that meant “home” to them. Jason Isaacs, star of the new hit show “Awake”, wrote that for him home means “sanctuary”. Other celebrities who dropped in to help out with this important cause included Cameron Monaghan, Jennifer Stone, Oliver Phelps, and Bailey Madison.
Social Hill works with a different charity every month to raise awareness in the celebrity community, which in turn raises awareness within the public.
