Norman, OK (PRWEB) April 04, 2012
Sims Recycling Solutions, the global leader in electronics reuse and recycling, will host a free electronics recycling event with the city of Norman to encourage the community to recycle their electronics. Electronics will be collected as part of the city of Norman’s household hazardous waste collection event. All electronics brought for recycling will be safely and responsibly recycled by Sims Recycling Solutions. The event will be held on April 14, 2012, at the Lloyd Noble Center located at 2900 South Jenkins Street, Norman, OK 73019 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
“Many old or unwanted electronics end up in storage or even in the trash because people do not know what else to do with them. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency estimates that as recently as 2009 five million short tons of electronics were in storage, but this collection event in observance of Earth Day will give Norman’s residents access to an appropriate and convenient outlet for recycling those gadgets,” stated Steve Skurnac, President, Sims Recycling Solutions, Americas. “By recycling e-waste during this event, individuals protect their surroundings, reduce pollution, and save natural resources, which helps to create a healthier environment for everyone. And as a single-source processor of end-of-life electronics using the most advanced recycling technology, Sims ensures all collected devices will be handled securely and responsibly.”
This e-waste collection event will be set up as a drive-through and drop-off event. Staff will be on hand to conveniently and quickly collect items from community members’ vehicles.
