Manchester Digital Agency, Athernet is celebrating doubling in size with a rebrand and re-launch but it is still looking for more developers. The company which is based at 111 Piccadilly has grown from a team of five a year ago to ten now strengthening its development and marketing departments and setting up a new creative department. Athernet’s Head of Creative Tom McCambridge’s first job was a new logo and new website design.
The company is also embarking on a marketing push to bring new clients on board. Athernet has ambitious plans for growth and is still looking to recruit. “Our staff are the key to our success,” said Daniel Atherton, Managing Director. “We have a rigorous selection process but it’s worth it to get the right type of people.”
The new website uses an adaptive approach so the design is optimised for the device the site is viewed on. Elements of the page can be added, removed or adjusted according to whether it is viewed on a smart phone, iPad, Tablet or desktop – but this is done using the same codebase. "The adaptive approach takes a little longer but it is mainly just thinking about mobile and full screen designs from the outset," explained Tom.
Managing Director, Daniel Atherton said, “We were keen for our new site to reflect our development capabilities. We have been telling clients what they should be doing but we felt it would be easier to showcase our ideas."
The company has expanded its offering from a web development based approach to include App development for iPhone and Android, digital marketing and design.
