Vasont Systems gives a quick overview of component content management systems for technical writers at STC Rochester’s annual conference

Technical writers are often thrust into the world of content management with no idea of how their job will change. To help educate them, Vasont Systems is providing a 15-minute demonstration of its Vasont Content Management System (CMS) at the Society for Technical Communication Rochester Chapter’s annual Spectrum 2012 conference. The conference will be held on April 23, 2012 at the CIMS Building on the Rochester Institute of Technology campus in Rochester, NY.

The demonstration will show the user interface of the Vasont Content Management System and how writers can quickly build and publish documents using topic-based writing methods. Harry Porthouse, Regional Manager for Vasont Systems, will demonstrate content reuse and multichannel publishing and explain the benefits it provides to a writer. He will also be available at Vasont Systems’ exhibit to answer questions and discuss content management strategies.

“Even after using the Vasont Content Management System for several years now I’m still amazed by how quickly you can build a manual or publish compiled help content,” said Mr. Porthouse. “The new features we’ve added to our recent software releases have boosted writer productivity and ease of use even farther.”

Designed to improve productivity and time-to-market of products, the Vasont CMS makes it easy for organizations to manage their multilingual technical documentation and business information. The system’s comprehensive single-source functionality stores content once, ensuring accuracy and increasing the efficiency of repurposing content to multiple media formats while managing the workflow and the overall business process of creating and publishing content.
