The elections office is thrilled to bring the voters of Duval County an even more secure, accurate, and reliable voting technology

Duval County voters will use voting technology provided by Election Systems & Software (ES&S) – the world’s premier provider of total election management solutions. The Duval County Commission has selected ES&S and reconfirmed the Election’s Office’s recommendation to purchase ES&S’ solution. Prior to selecting ES&S, County election officials conducted a detailed and comprehensive, competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process which resulted in the review of multiple vendors’ proposals. That review fully evaluated each vendor’s adherence to terms of the County’s RFP, the quality of the technology and services, and the cost to the County. The evaluation demonstrated to County election officials that ES&S would deliver the best equipment, service, and value for County voters.

The County will be implementing 250 DS200™ units, the industry’s most widely used digital precinct scanner, along with the DS850™ the world’s fastest and most accurate digital central scanner. These advanced devices are supported by Electionware™, the industry’s newest, most sophisticated, secure and reliable Election Management Software (EMS). This solution suite meets and exceeds the United States EAC’s 2005 VVSG standards and brings forth a new realm of usability for voters and election officials alike. “We are excited about the opportunity to bring the voters of Jacksonville and Duval County this state-of-the-art voting technology,” said Aldo Tesi, President and CEO of ES&S. Tesi added, “We are proud to be adding Duval County to our growing list of DS200 users. We have a very active user group community and Duval will be another great addition.”

“We are looking forward to the opportunity to be implementing this new technology. Duval County has a tradition of leadership and we are pleased to be the first to use the new Electionware EMS software,” said Jerry Holland, Duval County’s Supervisor of Elections. “The elections office is thrilled to bring the voter’s of Duval County an even more secure, accurate, and reliable voting technology,” noted Holland.

In addition, the County will be able to leverage their current investment already made in the ADA compliant AutoMARK® Ballot Marking Device. This important technology which allows voters with disabilities the opportunity to vote privately and independently using a paper-based balloting system was originally manufactured, serviced and supported by ES&S. As a result of this agreement, the county’s AutoMARK technology will be upgraded with the latest software enhancements.

ES&S is proud to continue its leadership position in the election industry by bringing innovative, advanced technology to the market supported by first-rate, experienced election professionals.

“We have the best team in the industry in place to support the City of Jacksonville and Duval County during this important implementation process,” said Tom Burt, Executive Vice President and COO of ES&S. “Our staff has more than three decades of elections-only experience from which to draw upon to help our customers manage the challenges that can occur on Election Day.”
