I wanted to see if customers would purchase gift baskets for Easter without chocolate bunnies or Easter eggs or other typical Easter fare.

Jane Alman, who helped create the Easter Section of the site, said “I wanted to see if customers would purchase gift baskets for Easter without chocolate bunnies or Easter eggs or other typical Easter fare. I’ve been pleasantly surprised and gratified at how well our unique offerings have sold this season. And, because they’re unique, we’ve not had to focus on making them cheap, affordable, or low cost. We’ve instead been able to focus on the best quality, and most interesting combinations possible.”
Judging by sales volume, this year’s special Easter gift baskets offerings have been a big hit, with sales up 15% compared to last year at the website and customer engagement, measured by tweets, likes, bookmarks and comments, up by more than 30%.
Said Jane, “we really didn’t expect the level of engagement we’ve had with our gift baskets this Easter Season. We definitely know for next year to make even more unique gift baskets because there is for sure demand for non-typical Easter fare. At one point, we were worried about selling out, but we’re happy to say we’ve made it through the season with everything in stock.”
