The Department of Defense, Office of the CIO will present its DoD Enterprise Architecture Achievement (DEAA) Awards at their Annual DoD Enterprise Architecture Conference hosted by the AFEI on May 1, 2012.
The DEAA awards recognize significant contributions and achievements in advancing the state of practice of enterprise architecture as an enabler of information advantage for the Department of Defense. The Enterprise Architecture Conference will be held April 30 - May 3, 2012, in Miami, FL.
"I'm impressed with this year's response to the call for nominations; it's a reflection on all the outstanding work going on across the Department," said Mr. Brian Wilczynski, Director, Architecture & Interoperability, Office of the DoD CIO. "The quality of the submissions was exceptional; competition was keen and it came down to a very tight set of discriminators to select the finalists. It is rewarding to see the dedication and perseverance of so many organizations that support our DoD missions through the discipline of architecture. I offer my congratulations to the finalists and my thanks to all those who participated in this year's awards."
“The challenge for our judges was sifting through the many fine nominations that are examples of the great work being done across the Department to streamline its use of technology,” said Dave Chesebrough, President of AFEI. “We are committed to supporting the industry/government dialog necessary in achieving DoD’s Joint Information Enterprise objectives. Our members are delighted to provide the backing for this awards program.”
The DEAA awards align with the strategic goals of the CIO - leading the DoD enterprise to achieve an information advantage for its people and partners. This year, the selection criteria placed greater emphasis on demonstrating architecture methodology/modeling, operational improvements and financial benefit.
