Calvin Berman Recognized by Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society for Excellent Academic Performance

Calvin Berman, of Beverly Hills, California, will be inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi honor society at the University of Texas at Austin on Sunday, April 15, 2012.

“Founded in 1897 at the University of Maine, Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective honor society for all academic disciplines,” reads a University of Texas at Austin website dedicated to the organization. The honor society has adopted the motto, “Let the love of learning rule humanity.”

Membership to the society is by invitation only to the top 7.5 percent of juniors and the top 10 percent of seniors at The University of Texas at Austin. Berman has earned a 3.79 cumulative grade point average while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from the University’s College of Communication. Last semester, he earned a 4.0 grade point average while completing a full course load of 15 hours and studying for the October 2011 LSAT.

“I could not feel more proud,” explains Berman. “This is a fantastic organization, with a rich tradition of excellence. I am humbled to have the opportunity to participate in the upcoming induction ceremony and I look forward to my lifetime membership.”

Berman, who, in the past year, has completed University of Texas coursework in Austin, Dublin, Ireland, and Los Angeles, will graduate this May, one full year ahead of schedule, and begin law school in the fall.
