This coveted award is given to a 2011 fundraising event produced in Canada demonstrating tremendous achievement in the areas of creativity, originality, design, planning and execution, and has surpassed the objectives of the event in every aspect. We are proud to announce that the 25th Anniversary Crystal Ball left all preconceptions behind! Unexpect the Expected titillated the senses with unique entertainment, stunning décor and delicious food. Truly like no other charity gala, the Crystal Ball held on Saturday November 19th, 2011, wowed guests and provided them with a complete sensory overload that satisfied body, mind and spirit. Over 1,400 guests enjoyed this exciting gala in support of Reach for the Rainbow. They were left breathless and wonderstruck never knowing what might happen next, and with 14 live entertainment acts and 14 live auctions the night was a whirlwind of glamour and fun! It was Expected Elegance, with an Unexpected twist…
But most importantly it raised over $1.1 million in critical funds for our children’s charity!
The production and execution of the gala comprised of experts in the fields of event production (Metalworks, Golden Productions, Another Planit); theme and décor (Décor & More); entertainment (Elwood Syracuse Productions), and design (Sutton Compliance Communications and Creative Bube Tube), alongside a small and dedicated Reach for the Rainbow staff.
“We knew going into this that we had a winner – it’s great to be recognized by our peers and we know that this recognition will go far in terms of the Crystal Ball being prominently circled on everyone’s social calendar this Fall” says Donna Trella, Founder of Reach for the Rainbow, “It really shows what a small charity can do with the right mix of creativity and commitment!”
