The goal of De Bethune is to create watches regardless of the cost, in terms of time and finish
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 10, 2012
Haute Time, the ultimate resource for luxury timepiece aficionados, presents exclusive video content behind top-tier watch brands from all over the world. Haute Living Co-publisher and Haute Time curator Seth Semilof sits down with CEO Pierre Jacques to talk about De Bethune’s history and what this year’s Basel World saw from the exquisite brand, especially one particularly limited piece.
Jacques began by providing Haute Time with a bit of background on the De Bethune factory, which was started 10 years ago by Denis Flageollet and David Zanetta in La Chaux L’Auberson. He explained that the goal of this celebrated luxury brand is to “create watches regardless of the cost, in terms of time and finish.”
The first watch that Jacques presented was the DB 25 model, which was introduced into the market three years ago. The high demand for this watch has posited it, as stated by the CEO himself, as “the icon piece for De Bethune.” With its classic gold dial and 3D moon phase animation, the inner movement boasts a silicon and platinum balance wheel power reserve.
Jacques’ next showcase was the DB 28 ST, which he says was created exclusively “as a novelty for Basel.” Limited to just 10 pieces for 2012, this timepiece is admired for its light and speedy tourbillion as well as its jumping second complication.
Gaining an inside look at the industry’s star timepieces directly from the company CEOs demonstrates the respect and passion Haute Time reserves for luxury watches and their corresponding brands.
