Logic Furniture has announced a re-naming competition to find a “new, more sophisticated, dynamic and elegant name” for its exclusive and distinctive sleeper sofa product line, which at the moment is named “DuraMech.”
Logic is reaching out to the designers, architects, purchasers, and owners of the hospitality industry for product name ideas that more effectively highlight the features, benefits, and design of the sleeper’s easy-to-use, roll-over open-and-close operation, which, combined with its exceptional comfort and durability, make the Logic sleeper sofa product line an outstanding offering.
“We don’t feel the current DuraMech name comes close to describing the qualities of this sleeper. And, frankly, DuraMech lacks the kind of excitement we and our customers have about it,” said Scott Billet, Logic director of program management. “So we said, ‘Hey, we work with creative people every day. Let’s get them involved and have some fun with it.’ What better than to have them tell us what they see in this product by recommending a new name?”
The Grand Prize will be a DuraMech sleeper sofa with choice of style, size, and fabric (up to $100 per yard). This will include a Contura Plus memory foam mattress and free shipping within the continental United States.
Runner up Prize will be a Studio Flip-Flop sleeper sofa with choice of fabric (up to $40 per yard) from Logic’s Burch Fabric collection. This also includes a Contra Plus memory foam mattress and free shipping within the continental United States.
Entries are due by May 31, 2012, and may be submitted online through the Logic website (http://www.logicfurniture.com). Contestants may enter as many times as they wish. If more than one contestant enters the same name, the contestant first submitted will win.
And there’s another fun wrinkle that includes those who might not submit a name: they can still vote for the winner! After May 31, before considering the ultimate winners, Logic will select up to ten entries and list them online, allowing everyone to vote for first and second place choices.
The Logic sleeper sofa raises eyebrows because of several distinctive features that include the cleverly developed roll-over design that self-stores both the seat cushions and the sofa back in one easy motion. An electro-welded steel mesh deck eliminates the uncomfortable “bar in the back” experience of traditional sofa sleepers. Comfort is further aided by an optional memory foam mattress that conforms to your body contours.
Other Logic sleeper sofa options include an ever-expanding array of textiles for a stylish and graceful appearance. With its heavy-duty steel frame and high-quality construction, the Logic sleeper sofa is exceptionally durable, performing well in tests exceeding more than 10,000 opening and closing cycles.
The DuraMech sleeper also adapts to changing styles and diverse environments very well. The modular design allows upholstered components to be removed easily in case of guest damage. It can also be easily disassembled and reassembled to facilitate movement through narrow hallways and doors and into distinctive architectural spaces. For a new look, the entire upholstery kit can be replaced on the same sleeper mechanism.
“There’s a lot to talk about with the DuraMech sofa sleeper. That’s why we’re looking for name suggestions from people who can really appreciate what it does,” said Billet.
