We have designed this product to facilitate user awareness of nearby military discounts and to allow trusted local businesses to efficiently reach those users.

TroopSwap.com, an e-commerce platform exclusively for active service members and veterans, today announced a major milestone in the company’s history. For the first time, members of the military community will be able to access military and veteran discounts through a web application reserved exclusively for members of the military community. In a neat twist, most of the discounts are sourced and curated by active military spouses and veterans, while businesses who do not meet the quality standards of the company are turned away.

Tony Huynh, TroopSwap’s Vice President of Engineering, noted, “We have designed this product to facilitate user awareness of nearby military discounts and to allow trusted local businesses to efficiently reach those users. We are fortunate to have teams of military spouses that curate the businesses we feature to our members which creates a positive feedback loop that allows military families new to a community to rapidly find trusted businesses while avoiding less reputable brands.”

TroopSwap is developing a mobile version of the website that will allow users to access discounts more efficiently from their smartphone and tablet devices. The date of the mobile launch is yet to be announced but the company plans to release the feature in the coming months.
