Visioneering Studios, known for high-impact “Design Intervention” projects which embody the unique DNA and personality of a faith community, recently completed work on Centerpoint Church in Murrieta, CA. The church is relaunching this month with a new name—Centerpoint—to reflect its mission and a new campus envisioned and designed by Visioneering. The studio has won the Solomon “Best Church Architect” award for 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011.

Originally the land for the church formerly known as Lamb's Fellowship was, appropriately, a resting spot for Spanish sheep farmers who grazed their flocks among the rich grasses, towering oak trees and verdant open spaces.

Today it’s still a place of rest, and Centerpoint serves as a modern refuge where weary families can find spiritual nourishment and support. The heart of the church is summed up in the words of Isaiah in chapter 25: “O Lord, you are my God….You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in their distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.”

Visioneering designed a campus to reflect this “big idea.” It includes a Main Street district with a coffee house, administrative offices, and open-air fellowship courts. This leads to a Worship Center with nearby KidsCity and a future Chapel Pavilion and Gardens. A Fieldhouse, including a Youth Center, Mercy House (outreach ministries) and a small open-air park, will complete the project.

"We came to Visioneering Studios because we knew they understand the needs of a church that has a vision to grow and reach its community,” said Centerpoint Lead Pastor John Hanson. “The site plan reflects the best input of our leadership team and the best insight of the Visioneering design team, and the result is incredible. We now have a campus plan that is beautiful and is great for ministry."

The design and building process was also a win for the church.

“We interviewed and got preliminary bids based on schematics from some other contractors,” Hanson says. “Their expertise was in mall construction; they didn't seem to really 'get' us, and the estimates they gave us were beyond our budget. We met with Visioneering and they got us! They shared our passion for ministry, and came alongside us to provide a complete design/build service. They gave us the Visioneering look, and the Visioneering expertise in working with the specific needs of ministry. The best part is they were able to accomplish this within the budget we established from the outset.”
